A forthcoming book by Gary L. Froseth
The Lives
Before Us
The Lives Before Us follows twelve connected families across five centuries of faith, migration, upheaval, and new beginnings.
Gary Froseth draws on decades of family research to explore the worlds his ancestors inhabited. Their stories move through Europe and America, from the Reformation and Atlantic crossings to the American Revolution, the Civil War, and Norwegian migration to Wisconsin.

Inside the book
Ordinary lives amid great changes
The book looks beyond names and dates to the decisions families made within their own times. Church records, letters, migration accounts, and other historical sources help place marriages, work, worship, loss, and hope within the larger events that shaped them.
